Finally, I am Back in Senegal
I am especially happy to be home in my second home country after being gone for more than a year. It is also true though, that the long absence has also proved to be a valuable experience. It is very good to see that the kindergartens are functioning well even without my presence, and that both the construction work as well as our research for future projects have been continued without me being on site. This is thanks to the intensive and good cooperation with my project partner, Elhadji Dieme. Now that the Corona situation in Senegal has calmed down, I am very happy to be back on site for the planned kindergarten projects. The cooperation in teaching is spreading to other kindergartens and new kindergarten buildings are to be built. Therefore we still rely on donations. |

News from the Senegal Project, September 2021
A highly successful Event
The event of 24 September 2021 of the Spielbar Bremgarten with the concert of the reggae band "Tan Pickney", was a wonderful evening. The almost summery weather, the impressiv music, the enthusiastic visitors, all this combined made this event into a special kind of experience. Tan Pickney kindly handed the collection from their concert over to our relief organization. Thanks to the wonderful evening the collection was accordingly generous. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the musicians, the team of the Spielbar and all those who contributed to this amazing sum. |

50 Boxes of ToysThe toys that were collected for the kindergartens in Senegal, just got loaded into a container. I am able to participate in the transportation of this container. This selected material is meant to support and promote the children's education which is an important part of my pedagogical work. I am very happy and looking forward to working with the bright and curious children again after my return trip on November 14, 2021. |

News from Senegal, July 2021
Senegal: End of School Term with Various HonorsThe annual rainy season in Senegal lasts from June to October, during this time the schools close also. Unfortunately, I was not able to accept the invitation to the closing ceremony this year. Therefore, I was even more pleased that Elhadji Dieme, my project partner, could attend the festivities and represent us both. In addition to various honors from the inspectorate and school directors for the kindergartens and sanitary facilities that were built by our association, we also received another diploma of recognition as well. |

I am particularly pleased about the visit of Misses Sissokho from Dakar, who is responsible for all of the kindergartens in Senegal. She came to get an idea of the situation in Sédhiou and it was said that she was very enthusiastic about our projects and our efforts in promoting preschool children. "Exemplair", as she said, "exactly what we want". An interesting contact has been established. | |
Switzerland: Note: When the weather is warm and summery, I can be found at the swimming pool in Villmergen with the Senegal – Market. I am will be looking forward to every visit. Best regards, Marielle Furter |

News from Senegal, April 2021
Switzerland: The Decision is MadeWith a heavy heart, I decided to postpone my trip back to Senegal until after the rainy season ends. The current circumstances as well as the Corona measures in this country would have hindered our projects too much. At the same time, my extended stay in Switzerland is proving to be worth its while considering the various tasks of the association, as well as all of the planned activities from the previous year, that could not be carried out due to the circumstances. Senegal: No Hold-up, Thanks to our Local Project LeaderNevertheless, the different jobs of our project in Senegal continued under the leadership of my project partner, Elhadji Dieme. So, despite the difficulties, all the finishing touches of our biggest kindergarten project from 2020 could be completed. The last classroom was painted this week and presents itself in green. |
