Bericht 8. März 2025Nachdem ich dieses Jahr etwas später in den Senegal gereist bin, um zusätzliche Erledigungen in der Schweiz abzuschliessen, konnte ich am 22. Januar 2025 sofort mit viel Elan und Vorfreude die geplanten Projekte einleiten. Inzwischen kommt das diesjährige Bauprojekt bald zum Abschluss, die Abgrenzung eines Kindergartens für einen Aussen-Spielplatz. Gleichzeitig führe ich mit diesem besonders engagierten Kindergarten-Team mein Spielprogramm weiter. Danach kommt es nach acht Jahren Unterstützung in allen neun Kindergärten in Sedhiou zum Abschluss hier. Wie vorhergesehen werde ich nun die Region wechseln. Aktuell liegt mein Fokus vorwiegend bei der Mitarbeit im Unterricht durch das Einführen von einer vielseitigen Lernumgebung. Die begeisterten Kinder und ihre erstaunliche Entwicklung durch diese förderlichen Tätigkeiten zeigen mir immer wieder, wie wichtig für die Bildung der Kleinsten auch dieser Teil meiner Projektarbeit ist. Für weitere Kindergarten-Bauprojekte sind wir dringend auf Spenden angewiesen.

The year will soon be drawing to a close. My stand at the Christmas market in Villmergen on December 7 was my last activity before I travel back to Senegal on January 20, 2025. I am looking forward to continuing to work with the kindergartens in Sedhiou, supporting the teachers in the area of play, but of course especially with the children. So I will soon be writing again about my project work directly from Senegal. Before that, however, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and my aid organization in any way, for your trust and all your kind donations. For the coming year, I wish you all the best, happiness and joyful days in the best of health.

We are Celebrating!!! 10 Years of kindergardens4senegalDuring the rainy season in Senegal from June to October there is a long vacation, after which a new school year begins. I use these months for a stay in Switzerland, and to take care of the various association activities and various personal charity events. Raising Awareness of Dental Care with Crocodile Bambo The crocodile Bambo (translation of the crocodile in Mandinka), accompanied me on my last tour of various kindergartens before the end of the school year. I had a toothbrush and tooth paste for each child. The theatrical introduction to the topic of dental care and the demonstration of how to brush teeth properly using Bambo's teeth triggers many a laugh and is enjoyed by young and old alike. After the demonstration, I gave each child their present accompanied by a few words of encouragement. The present got packed up unto their backpacks with great joy. Later on, grateful parents here and there express their appreciation to me. Furthermore, new trainees will regularly visit the kindergartens and at the same time benefit from getting to know the lessons and the various playgrounds. As a result, the responsible inspector has also gained an insight into how my play program is structured during one of his visits. This cooperation is important and I really appreciate it, because my work should fit in with the local requirements. And as it turned out, it fits in perfectly with their new form of teaching.
