The Kindergarten building shell is done, now it only needs the roof!!!
I'm extraordinarly pleased to relay the message, that the work on the kindergarten is moving along quickly and going according to plan. The foundation alone took three weeks to get done, it got developed with a high level of quality and reliability. It was very interesting to follow this process. Building with a basement is not something you do here. The square holes, that got dug were done up with iron grating. More iron rods were placed horizontally and then the holes got filled up with contrete.

Hooray, we're getting started!
I have a wonderful feeling all the way down to my toes, actually, it's filling up the innermost part of me. The day has finally come, the months of preliminaries are over. My exhaustion turns into heavenly joy. Finally we can begin with the building stage of the kindergarten in Niaguis.
As if in high speed I see all of the different pictures of the last months pass before my eyes. Overwhelming emotions surge through me. It has been more than two years, since I had the first discussions and began with the preliminary work in Senegal. This past year I have been living and breathing this projectf 24/7, both in Switzerland and since the beginning of the year 2015 also here in Senegal. The days are long and filled with work, the hot and humid nights are short and only a couple of hours of rest have to suffice. But my vision and the very needy children I see here in Casamance, give me the strength every day to not lose sight of my goal.

Documents, documents, documents...
After returning to Zinguinchor on 26. February from my unexpected visit to Switzerland, I needed to open a bank account. The first money transfer for the three planned building stages needed to take place as soon as possible, so that the construction of the Kindergarten could begin. Opening a bank account was not as easy as it sounds, in fact, it was a very complicated process. It didn't just take lots of time, it also racked my nerves. And not just mine. To make sure, that I really was a trustworthy person, they always asked for more and different documents, unitl I was getting nightmares about them. I was filled with great relief and joy, when on 26. March, a whole month after returning, the bank account was finally established.

After the festive ground-breaking ceremony, where we could lay the first brick, we (the Federation Dimbaya and I) began to address the quesitions of what the kindergarten building should look like and also what kind of rooms it should have. We liked the blue prints from a kindergarten building in Dakar right away, that also had three classes.
